I am looking to get cheap auto insurance in Oregon and was wondering if you had any tips. I have a 2004 Toyota Camry as well as a long, clean driving record. I canceled my previous insurance plan because I was going overseas for an undetermined length of time. Now that I’m back, I need to insure my car again, but I’m reluctant to go back to my old carrier after finding out I was paying more then just about everyone I know. What can I do to get a great insurance quote this time around?

Tim,
Auto insurance in Oregon is unfortunately more expensive then almost two thirds of the rest of the nation. That being said, it is especially important to find cheap auto insurance in Oregon. There are a few things you can do to help lower your insurance quote. If you are above the age of 25, you’re looking at a much cheaper quote. Students, however, are eligible for good grade discounts. An auto insurance company is willing to charge less if you offer to take on a higher deductible during accidents, and would be happy to offer you a discount if you pay for the whole year at once. If you have homeowners insurance, you can often get a price break by insuring your car through the same company. Keep Oregon auto insurance in mind when purchasing a new car; the more expensive the care, the more it will cost to insure. One last tip is to search, check, and compare Oregon auto insurance quotes online. Many sites will offer you multiple quotes from different companies at once.
